Day 12
Thurs 10th September
Kms travelled; 1250
Kms to go: 70
We leave a little later at first light as we don’t want to tackle the busy road outside in the dark.
It is freezing! Well 6° and our hands are cold….slowly we thaw out
The ocean is on our right which we catch glimpses of during the day…we pass surfing communities with people from all over the world.
The cycle track is glorious mainly through forests but the tracks are varied, windy, undulating not like the monotonous straight unending tracks of a few days ago. BUT this comes at a price, they are packed, alot of folk whizzing past on electric bikes.

We have elevensies at a cross roads, it’s beginning to get warmer.
Late afternoon we pass the affluent town of Capbreton, there’s a touristy street selling everything so we stop for a beer before navigating a bit of a treacherous route to our forest accommodation by the sea via Labene. We are by the sea and there is a swimming pool but we can only think of dinner, our very early start tomorrow and our assent on the Pyrannes…argh!!!

What a trip! Well done all of you. Looks great and love the blog. Xx
Thank you! It was all fun until yesterday, the hills broke me!
Heading home today on the Brittany Ferry
Such an amazing experience. I am in awe of you all. Safe travels for your last few days to st Sebastian. We went to an amazing sandwich shop there. I’ll send you its name.
That’s very kind, until yesterday it was quite easy but those Pyrannes broke me! Only in San Sebastian 14 hours sadly as ferry is today.
Great stuff all! Well done Emz
Thank you Alan
